The Vanuatu National Beach Soccer Team, en-route to Tahiti for the Oceania Qualifying Tournament has requested a 10 day stop-over period in Honiara for some friendly warm-up matches with local clubs and the Bilikiki Boys.

The unfancied Marist club have defied the odds by beating defending champions Koloale FC 1-0 in the 2009 Our Telekom National Club Championships final last night to earn a spot at the 2010 O-League.

The much anticipated finals of the Telekom Club Championships will be played out today at the Lawson Tama stadium with Koloale taking on Marist.

While all eyes will be on the men's National Club Championships today, it will be the women who take centre stage at the Solomon Islands Football Federation (SIFF) tomorrow.

Football history is being made in the Solomon Islands this week as the country hosts its first ever FIFA Women's Football Com-Unity seminar devoted exclusively to the women's game.
