Prime Minister Dr. Derek Sikua and his delegation arrived in New Zealand as they continue the three nation tour of the Pacific.
Dr. Sikua and his delegation arrived in Auckland yesterday afternoon. This trip follows meetings held with Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea, Sir Michael Somare, and Australia's Prime Minister, Kevin Rudd, in the past three days.
The meetings have been described as "very successful".
Special Secretary to Prime Minister, Matthew Wale, is quoted as saying the meetings had achieved two objectives.
"... iron out the relations and ensure better understanding between the countries and Solomon Islands, and to discuss issues of interest to those countries because we are regional neighbours and friends," SIBC quotes Mr. Wale as saying.
Prime Minister Sikua will meet his New Zealand counterpart, Helen Clark, today.
The high level delegation will also host an informal meet with the Solomon Islands community and friends in Auckland tonight.
