A National consultations on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) will be held in Fiji in the next two months.
UN resident co-ordinator and UNDP qrepresentative in Fiji Osnat Lubrani said this would allow the nation to discuss key issues that affected all Fijians.
"I am currently leading a process of consultations around the UN Pacific strategy country by country where we are having consultations," Ms Lubrani said.
"There will be a national consultation here in Fiji in November that will involve not just the government but multiple stakeholders as well and based on those priorities the country will develop its plans on how it wants to localise the SDGs.
"UNDP plays a very important role in this process and that framework will also include UNDP's strategy, which is currently being developed."
The sustainable development goals (SDGs), officially known as Transforming our world: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, are an intergovernmental set of aspiration goals and spearheaded by the UN.
Ms Lubrani said the institution would help countries in the region develop their national priorities to deal with key areas such as climate change, governance, poverty and education.
