PNG Among Hardest for Business

PNG has been named by the World Bank as one of the hardest countries in the world to do business in.

According to a report by Radio Australia, the World Bank highlighted Papua New Guinea as one of the hardest countries in the world to do business in and, in its 'Doing Business Report for 2008', highlighted the island nation as 'one of the three most difficult countries in the Pacific in which to do business, with Marshall Islands and Micronesia sharing the bottom rung of the ranking'.

'Fiji, under military rule, leads the field of pacific nations as the easiest country to do business in' with a ranking of 36, followed by Tonga, Samoa, Vanuatu, Kiribati, Solomon Islands, Palau then PNG, Marshall Islands and Micronesia.
