The Peoples Alliance Party says it will contest the coming National Elections in 2010.
A statement from the party says this was agreed to at a meeting the party held over the weekend.It says the meeting agreed there was no reason why Peoples Alliance Party cannot contest next years elections.
The meeting also reiterated that the PAP was the only political party that ruled the country for one full term in office from 1989 to 1992 and could do so again next year.
Members also agreed that it was PAP under the leadership of Sir Allan Kemakeza that brought back peace to Solomon Islands after it went through difficult times during the ethnic unrest.
Meanwhile, those who attended the meeting included former Governor General Sir Nathaniel Waena, former Prime Minister Sir Allan Kemakeza and former Speaker of the National Parliament Waeta Ben Tabusasi and a founding member of PAP, Kamilo Teke.
