Former Solomon Islands attorney-general Julian Moti has been given until [today] to file details of his application to have child sex charges against him dismissed.
AAP reports that during a review of the matter in the Supreme Court in Brisbane Monday, Moti's barrister Jim Kennan confirmed he needed the extension of time because he had only recently taken over the case from Ken Averre.Moti is facing seven counts of engaging in sexual intercourse with a person under 16.
The stay application is due to be heard in September.
If it is unsuccessful, Moti will go to trial in November.
