The Royal Solomon Islands Police have received an official invite from the Nauru Government to lend a helping hand in bomb disposal.
Acting Commissioner, Peter Marshall, said that Nauru had found live bombs in their islands and sought assistance from RSIP officers to help dispose them safely.He said that the invitation indicates the proficiency of the local force in the field.
"This is the first time for a Pacific government to seek help from the RSIP and as the Acting Commissioner, I am very much happy to know that we have gained recognition from other countries," he said.
Mr. Marshall added that the professionalism of the RSIP is being exposed to neighbouring countries and a good change for Solomon Islands to be in the helping end.
The RSIP will be sending two officers tomorrow for Nauru.
