Member of Parliament for Kia-Hograno Selwyn Riumana says calls by the Anti-Corruption Network of Solomon Islands for the police to arrest and charge him was unnecessary.
A letter from Riumana's legal representation - Suri's Law Practise - says their client sees the call by A-N-S-I as unnecessary and made out of total ignorance or out of malice or ulterior motives.
In the letter, Riumana's legal representation said their Client is innocent until proven guilty and no media trial will achieve that.
Suri's Law Practise also stated it is untrue that the Police have not acted on the complaints made to them.
It said they had responded, on behalf of their Client, to the Police investigations and had written to the Police on July 19 this year.
The firm also said the decision to arrest and charge any person rests with the Police or D-P-P, and not any member of the public.
The firm says the Police only make arrests or charge a person if it is satisfied with the quantity and quality of its collected evidences - and not on ANSI perceptions or motives.
