Burglars Break into Media Head Office

A break-in at a building in Honiara last night affected at least four offices, including the Media Association of Solomon Islands (MASI) head office.

Visiting the scene, Solomon Times noted that apart from MASI office, the burglars had also broken into a private law firm, the Global Lawyers office, the Police Credit Union office and a Chinese Clothing shop below the MASI office.

Speaking with the MASI administration officer, Ms. Remola Malolo, she said that the burglars had gone in through the main gate and started breaking doors through the whole building.

Solomon Times was told that documents in the MASI office were all over the place, with locked table drawers being jammed and pulled out.

Ms. Malolo revealed that the burglars took off with the office petty cash, a projector machine, a camera and other small items in the office.

"It is obvious that whoever broke into the office were looking for cash because the office LCD computer screen was not removed," she added.

Police who were at the scene in the morning found some fingerprints in the MASI office, which will help assist them in their investigation.
