Australia will be continuing its support for Solo Icon this year which includes a financial contribution of more than SBD$40,000.
Announcing this at the opening of Solo Icon recently, the Australian High Commissioner Matt Anderson says he is happy to announce the ongoing support especially after hearing of the country's famous reputation for producing good musicians. He says Australia is happy to be involved with the Solo Icon because it wants to support the youth of the country.
Australia has been involved with the singing competitions since 2008 through financial sponsorship and bringing in well known recording artists and music producers to Solomon Islands to assist competitors.
The Australian High Commission has also arranged for Solo Icon Winners, including last year's Icon Josh Shaller to record their first albums and perform concerts in Australia.
