Dear Editor, I am writing to you on behalf of the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) to say thank you to all your readers who have sent their used stamps to us and to please remind everyone that we are DESPERATE for any amount of stamps at anytime of the year. With the Christmas period nearly here this is the perfect time to start saving stamps for us! RNIB are UK’s leading charity offering information, support and advice to over two million people with sight problems. Our pioneering work helps anyone with a sight problem – not just with Braille, talking Books and computer training, but with imaginative and practical solutions to everyday challenges. Money raised by collecting new and used postage stamps helps to also support RNIB Sunshine House School, Northwood. This is a non-maintained special school for children who are blind or partially sighted with multiple disabilities. RNIB Sunshine House School is firmly committed to our belief that all children have the right to learn. They provide a service of high quality specialist education and care through daily and residential provision, enabling our children to achieve their potential. This is a permanent appeal and so postage stamps can be sent to me at any time of the year. We raise more money for postage stamps from overseas so you can see why we need your help so desperately. If readers could ask their friends and family throughout the world I would be so grateful. I appreciate that you may receive lots of requests from charities, but sight is something we often take for granted.
